Result:
- Current cost: ₹1,00,000
- Cost increase: ₹79,085
- Future cost: ₹1,79,085
How it is calculated
Inflation is the rise in prices over time. If prices rise 6% a year, something that costs ₹1,00,000 today will cost more every year, so the same money buys less. That is why savings that grow slower than inflation lose value.
Formula: Future cost = Today's cost × (1 + inflation rate)t.
Example: ₹1,00,000 today at 6% inflation is about ₹1.79 lakh in 10 years.
